That is what we are working towards. If the financing is not ready in time, we start with ten in a rented building — the same model, smaller, and then on to the rest.
The business plan has been worked through: market study, operating model and financing. We are setting up the foundation and talking to the municipality, the care administration office and existing care providers.
Acquire an existing building of roughly 2,600 m². An application to the Regio Deal Zuid-Hollandse Delta, a subsidy from the RVO, talks with a social lender, and the crowdfunding campaign. After that the permit and the final design.
Transformation into two clusters of sixteen studios around a shared heart. At the same time we build the team, arrange the care licence and decide together with families who will come to live here.
The doors open, cluster by cluster. In the years after that we measure, together with a university of applied sciences, whether the model does what we promise: that support can be scaled down without anyone losing their home.
There is no site yet, no design and no permit.
The same set-up, two sizes. The drawings are schematic — they show how the plan is organised, not how it will look.
Eight point nine million is a lot of money, and funders like to see an organisation that is already running. We do not have one yet. If the financing does not come together, we start with ten studios in a rented building for € 580,000 — about seven per cent of that amount. That proves the model, produces a waiting list of our own, and makes the step to thirty-two considerably easier to finance.
That is not a figure of speech: municipalities and funders literally ask us for numbers. Signing up commits you to nothing and there is no intake procedure.
